First of all, thanks to God and to Ramandeep. Last year, till July end I was not even knowing the syllabus and scheme of PO examination but today i got allotted in Allahabad bank (51.20 marks-GEN category).
This is my success story
This is my success story
My Background
My father is in a government college as a librarian and my mother is a house wife. I have completed all my schooling from CBSE (ENGLISH MEDIUM). I completed b.tech in ECE branch in 2012. After that, i worked with an IT company for 11 months but got frustrated due to overload of work and meagre salary. It was then that IBPS released notification for PO-3. I decided to leave my IT job and decided to study for PO because i felt that the time i was putting in my job (10 hrs/day) could be utilised in a better way and I can use same time to make a jump in my career from 12K job to a bank PO job.
My Study Plan
As exams were proposed to be held in October and i had no preparation till starting of August so I attended demo classes of a well known institute (i would not name it here) but i felt that it was not of much help. So, i arranged 1 book for each subject (except GK/Current affairs) and started studying for 9-10 hrs./day. A week before exam, i increased it to 12 hrs./day. I concentrated mainly on Aptitude and reasoning as I am from English medium, i did not paid too much time on English. As i have done b.tech, so that helped me a lot in Computer section.
My strengths
Ability to sit for hours (this habit developed in IT company) and study plus being from English background helped me a lot.
My weakness
Very weak in current affairs knowledge
Resources that helped me achieve success:- Raman's blogs, R.S.AGARWAL book for reasoning, Raman's book for aptitude, BSC publication book for previous years PO questions and few online tests on TestPanda.com

Study with utmost concentration. Leave all your entertainment, tensions, feelings, emotions behind while studying. Study as if you want to be ranked 1 in all over India. Strive for the best. No one else shall move ahead of you. Also, remember that there are many opportunities other than PO and look to them. Also, pay more attention to those topics in which you are especially weak. Do not leave them. Also, keep yourself in practice with PO tests. One can also do it through Testpanda test series.
My Mistakes
I did not take current affairs section seriously in PO exam. I managed just the sectional cut off. I request all of you to divide your time judiciously among all the topics.
My success mantra
Study with 100% concentration and study for 10 hrs./day.
My favorite quote
Kisi cheez ko agar dil se chaho to puri kaynath use tumse milane ke liye saazish rachti h.
If i can complete my whole PO syllabus in 2.5 months (from August starting to oct20, the date of my written exam), so can you. Just believe in your self. Do not pay too much attention and time on your
already strong topics. Make a list of your weak topics and study them first. There is still some time left for next PO exam and i am sure that all those who study laboriously with good concentration and
divide their time judiciously among strong and weak points will definitely succeed.
Best of luck to all.
