SBI PO - How to Tackle a Difficult Paper

Published on Monday, June 23, 2014
Many of you might have already appeared for SBI PO while some of you are going to appear next week. So today I am giving few tips to tackle a difficult paper :-

Never stick to one question set

Most of the candidates are committing this mistake. They are wasting 10-15 minutes to a single question set. You need to admit it that this time Data Interpretation section of SBI PO is difficult and it's not the level for which you have prepared. The study material was not made for these type of questions. So don't bring you over-confidence in between and go ahead and solve reasoning questions. Try to find how much marks per minute you are getting fro each section and use your time wisely.

Draft your exam strategy based upon exam experiences of other candidates

In past many readers shared their exam experiences. Difficulty of level of the exam remains same, so its better to read each and every exam experience. Data Interpretation is bit time consuming and bit logical. Never allot more than 45 minutes to DI section. Many students did this mistake and gave more than 50 minutes to DI section. Result is - They attempted less than 100 questions.

I recommend you to do a Time Value analysis. You must know that means how much marks a section fetches you for every minute spent on it. English and GK are highest value sections as these sections needs minimum time to solve. I recommend all the readers to give adequate time to these sections and never leave any question from these sections.

English and GK, Marketing and Computer knowledge are marks rich sections

Many candidates are not giving adequate time to these sections. Remember that it's very easy to secure 35+ in English and GK, Marketing and Computer awareness sections but it is very difficult to score 30+ in Data interpretation. Still most of the candidates are wasting their time in these sections.
