Today we are presenting you some important Error Correction in English Mania Session. From this session you may got similar questions in your upcoming banking and insurance exams. Try to solve it.

English Mania: Error Correction

Directions (Q.1-10): Read each sentence to find out whether there is any error, if any, will be in one part of the sentence. The number of that part is the answer. If there is no error, the answer is 5. Ignore the errors of punctuation, if any.

Answer & Solution

1. 3; the sentence is in past tense, so it should be ‘found’ in place of ‘find’.
2. 4; there is mention of only one teacher, so replace ‘them’ with ‘him’ or ‘her’.
3. 4; remove ‘not’.
4. 3; it should be ‘suffer from’ in place of ‘suffer of’.
5. 5; No error.
6. 2; replace ‘were’ with ‘was’.
7. 2; replace ‘concern’ with ‘concerning’.
8. 1; It is one friend out of several friends, so it should be ‘friends’ in place of ‘friend’.
9. 1; ‘No sooner’ is followed by ‘did’ or ‘had’.
[Rule: No sooner did I V1 than S + V2 or No sooner had I V3 than S + V2]
10. 2; out of the several orators only one is being mentioned, so it should be ‘is’ in place of ‘are’.
