Solution :

19.                      9

               15

6.                           4

ratio = 3:2

Ques 2.

 3 containers have their volumes in ratio 3:4:5.They r full of milk & water.The mixture contains milk & water in ratio(4:1),(3:1) & (5:2). The contents of all these 3 containers r poured into 4th container.The ratio of milk & water in 4th container is?

Solution :

Milk = (4*3/5)+(3*4/4)+(5*5/7)=314/35

Water = (1*3/5)+(1*4/4)+(2*5/7)=106/35

Milk : Water = 157:53

Ques 3.

A man purchased 2 articles at the same price. One he sold at 20%. Profit, While other sold at the loss of, half of the 1 Profit. Finally what was the Profit percentage?

Solution :

one article c.p = 100,  another article c.p=100

first article sold with 20% profit , so S.P = 120

Second article sold with 20/2% loss, so S.P = 90

total C.P =100+100=200
total S.P = 120+90 =210

overall profit % = (10*100)/200=5%

Ques 4.

Vishal invested 2/11 th part of his monthly income in stocks share and that of 4/11th part in mutual fund. He spent the remaining amount on domestic needs and apparel in the ratio 5 : 3 respectively. The expenditure on domestic needs was Rs.2100. What is his annual income?

Solution :

Total = X
Remaining =X-(2X/11 + 4X/11) = 5X/11

Domestic needs and appeals ratio = 5:3

5--------2100

3 -------- ?

appeals = 1260

Domestic need and appeals = 2100+1260=3360

5X/11 = 3360

Monthly Salary X= 7392

yearly salary = 7392*12=88,704

Ques 5.

The sum salary of A,B AND C is 72000.They spend 80%,85 % and 75% of their salary.If the ratio of their savings is 8:9:20.what is the salary of A?

Solution :

20A : 15B: 25C = 8:9:20

A=2, B= 3, C = 4

A salary = (2*72000)/9 = 16000

Ques 6.

X invest 4000 more than Y . If the total profit at the end of the year is 8000 and Y's share in profit is 3200, calculate the amount invested by X.

Solution:

X profit =8000-3200=4800

profit ratio X: Y= 4800:3200=3:2

difference in ratio =3-1=1
difference in amount = 4000

1 unit --------4000

3 units -------  X

X amount = 12000

Ques 7.

A is 3 times as fast as B. B worked for 6 days and then A joined. Total it took 12 days to complete the work. In how many days A can finish the work alone.

Solution :

A efficiency = 3
B efficiency = 1

B works 6days , so B completed work = 1*6= 6 units

Remaining 6 days A and B working together and finished work = (3+1)*6= 24 units

Total Work = 24+6 = 30Units

A alone finish this work in days = 30/3=10days

Ques 8.

 The difference between SI invested @ 12% for 3 years and 5 Years is 2880. Find the Sum.

Solution :

In 1st case rate * time = 12*3 =36%
2nd case rate *time  = 12*5=60%

difference = 60-36=24%

difference interest = 2880

24% --------2880

100% ------- X

Sum (X) = 12,000

Ques 9.

 The sum of perimeter of two Squares, Square A and Square B is 84m. Side of Square B 3m more than side of squareB. Find the area of SquareA.

Solution :

square A side = x
square B side = x+3

sum perimeters = 4x +4(x+3) = 8x+12

==> 8x +12=84
==>X=9

Area square A = 9*9= 81sq.m

Ques 10.

 4, 3, 5, 14, 55, ?

Solution :

4*1 -1=3
3*2-1 = 5
