1. The Staff Selection Commission has successfully completed the conduct of Combined Graduate Level Examination (Tier-I)-2016 in Computer Based Mode of Examination from 27.8.2016 to 11.9.2016. This examination was conducted at Srinagar on 25.9.2016. Out of 38.04 lakh registered candidates, about 14.99 lakh candidates in 44 Batches actually appeared in the Examination in 96 Cities across the country.

2. The entire examination has been conducted in a transparent, free and fair manner and all candidates are assured that the integrity and purity of the examination is intact in all respects. The candidates can rest assured that the selection process through this examination, which is to be conducted in four Tiers, would be entirely merit based wherein only the most competent candidates would be selected to man important positions in the Government of India. The examination was conducted by the Commission under elaborate arrangements wherein, the entire examination process was closely monitored on a near real time basis. Except for one stand alone incident at one of the venues at Bhagalpur, which was effectively neutralised at its inception stage and had a ‘zero impact’ on the entire examination process, the examination in the remaining 43 batches is totally sanitised and sacrosanct. A reexamination is being conducted for the Second Shift (Batch-II) of 27.8.2016. Thereafter, the result for Tier-I would be declared on 8.11.2016.

3. It may be pertinent to mention that under the Computer Based Mode, each of the 44 Batches, in which the examination was conducted, are stand alone system in themselves wherein one Batch does not impact the other Batch. In the given context, the propaganda to re-conduct the entire examination made by certain vested interests is absolutely flawed and misplaced. It is, therefore, unfortunate that certain vested interests are working overtime to mislead the candidates in particular and the general public at large, in an attempt to bring disrepute to the Commission.

4. The Commission assures all candidates of its best services and also stands by its commitment made to the candidates to declare the final result of CGLE-2016 by the end of April 2017 ( i.e. in a record time of eight months from the date of the Tier-I Exam which commenced on 27th August 2016).

Thanks.
