ANITA BHATIA

  • She is an Indian-origin, a veteran in strategic partnerships, resource mobilisation and management.
  • She has been recently appointed as Deputy Executive Director for UN women.
  • She has also served as Director of Global Partnerships for International Finance Corporation (IFC) and worked for World Bank (WB).

SATISH CHANDRA VERMA

  • He has been appointed as Advocate General of Chhattisgarh.
  • Advocate General’s are appointed by Governor of State according to Article 165 of the Indian Constitution.
  • He replaced former Advocate General Kanak Tiwari..

AJIT DOVAL

  • He is a retired IPS officer of 1968 batch of Kerala cadre.
  • During the first term of NDA, he has served as National Security Adviser.
  • In the second term of Modi Govt, he has been reappointed as National Security Adviser for another five-year term and has been given a rank of Cabinet Minister.

RAKESH MAKHIJA

  • He has been appointed as Chairman of Axis Bank.
  • The board of the bank has approved his appointment in March as a chairman subject to Reserve Bank’s clearance.
  • He will hold the office for a period of 3 years with effect from July 18, 2019, to July 17, 2022, which includes both dates.

RAJIV MAHARISHI

  • He is Comptroller and Auditor General of India.
  • In the recently held 72nd WHO Assembly in Geneva, he has been elected as External Auditor of WHO for a period of four years starting from 2020 which ends in 2023.
  • Initially, in the year he has also been appointed as External Auditor of Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

MRUTYUNJAY MOHAPATRA

  • He is a Scientist and cyclone warning specialist.
  • He is working as Additional Director General in the Indian Metrological Department (IMD).
  • Recently he has been appointed as the Chief of Indian Metrological Department (IMD).

JUSTICE DHIRUBHAI NARANBHAI PATEL

  • He has been sworn in as Chief Justice of Delhi High Court.
  • The oath to Chief Justice of a High Court is administered by Governor of state.
  • He was posted in Jharkhand High Court.

N GOPALASWAMI

  • He is a former Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), who has served from June 2006 to April 2009.
  • He has been appointed as Electoral Officer for BCCI by Committee of Administrators (CoA).
  • He will supervise the elections of BCCI and the Indian Cricketers Association.

SHARAD KUMAR

  • He is a former Chief of anti-terror probe agency National Investigation Agency.
  • Currently, he is a Vigilance commissioner.
  • He has been appointed as interim Central Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) till new CVC is appointed by the PM.

KRISHNASWAMY NATARAJAN

  • He is appointed as a Director-General of Indian Coast Guard.
  • He replaced Rajendra Singh.
  • He is the 23rd Chief of India’s Security forces.

AMITABH KANT

  • He is a Chief Executive Officer of NITI Aayog.
  • The Appointments Committee of Cabinet has approved him an extension for another two years as a CEO of NITI Aayog up to 30.06.2021.

NARINDER BATRA

  • He is the first Indian to head International Hockey Federation.
  • He is also the President of Indian Olympic Association.
  • Recently he has been appointed as a member of the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
  • He got 58 votes out of 62.

AMITAV GHOSH

  • He has been awarded the 54th Jnanpith Award for his contribution to the enrichment of Indian literature in English.

NIRMALA SITHARAMAN AND S JAISHANKAR

  • Nirmala Sitharaman is the Finance minister of India whereas S Jaishankar is the External Affairs Minister.
  • Jawaharlal Nehru University is going to confer them alumni award.
  • Nirmala Sitharaman had completed her MA and M Phil degrees while S Jaishankar his M Phil degree from JNU.

  • Maldives Government is going to confer its highest award named ‘Nishan Izzuddin’ to PM Narendra Modi.

  • Sundar Pichai is the CEO of Google while Adena Friedman is the President of Nasdaq.
  • The duo has been chosen for Global Leadership Award 2019 for their contribution in respective platforms.
  • The award is conferred by US-India Business Council (USIBC).

  • She is a Malayalam Actor.
  • She has been conferred with Malayalam cinema’s highest honour J C Daniel Award.
  • She is the only second woman to be conferred with this award after Aranmula Ponnamma.

PRATIBHA PATIL

  • She is a former President of India (2007-2012).
  • She has been conferred with Mexico’s highest civilian award given to foreigners named ‘Orden Mexicana del Aguila Azteca’.
