Key Highlights
- Under this scheme, the government will provide state ration cardholders two kilograms of two different varieties of pulses available at prices much lower than the market value.
- Government distributed pulse packets among the beneficiaries at the time of the launch.
- A subsidy of Rs.15 per kilogram on a variety of pulses including chana, Malka and Masur will be provided by the government.
- Under this scheme each eligible beneficiary and ration cardholders will get 2 kgs of pulses every month at subsidized rates.
- This will help people to fulfill their protein requirement.
- Also, this scheme will help in achieving the Prime Minister’s vision of a healthy India.
- Around 23.32 lakh ration card holders of state will benefit from the scheme. They will get two kgs of Chana dal at the rate of Rs 44 per kg which comes at Rs 65-Rs 70 per kg in the open market.
